Thanksgiving Prep Time!

Now, it’s been a few days and I messed up my daily logging during Body Revolution.  I considered backtracking and writing for each day but honestly, things are going way too fast for that.  So, let’s begin anew, shall we?

Last Wednesday I met with my Nutritionist and our focus was Thanksgiving.  Every year for the last, I don’t know, ten years or so I have failed miserably and not controlling how much I eat.  Part of the problem is that I go home and stay too long and the longer I stay the harder it is for me to keep up my “normal” eating habits and of course the other part of the problem is – ALL THAT FOOD!

Let’s play a game.

It’s called The No Game.  How do you play? It’s easy:  Every answer to every question is No.

Baja Fresh for lunch today, would you like tortilla chips with your salad?   No.

Would you like some munchkins during this meeting? Help Yourself.   No, thank you.

Would you like to stop off at the grocery store and get some Pop Chips?  (of course I would!)  “NO!”

Every choice we make every day regarding food, all day long – all of these collectively will add up to what we see in the mirror.

How Weight Watchers Kept Me from Becoming a Contestant on the Biggest Loser!

I believe that my first encounter with a prescribed plan for weight loss and dieting came when, in 2001, my then college professor/now close friend invited me to join Weight Watchers with her. I was very strapped for cash and she offered to pay my weekly $10 fee if I went with her.   To this day, that remains one of the most generous gifts I’ve ever received from anyone outside of my parents.   Continue reading
